The MPQ7223-AEC1 is a 48-channel current sink LED driver. Each channel is rated for up to 80mA of current, and 64 ICs can be cascaded together to create a 3072-channel solution that is ideal for automotive exterior styling lights.

The MPQ7223-AEC1 is optimized for dynamic lighting applications. It employs 16-bit pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming and 7-bit analog dimming through a serial interface, with individual control of each channel via internal register configurations. The 25MHz serial interface clock guarantees a high data transfer rate for applications when multiple chips are cascaded together.

The MPQ7223-AEC1 features adaptive feedback control (AFC) to maximize system efficiency.

The pre-regulator's output voltage (e.g. buck voltage regulator) is adjusted in real time so that the voltage across the channels is kept at a minimum value (300mV headroom at 30mA).

Protection features include LED open protection, LED short protection, and over-temperature protection (OTP). All fault statuses can be read through the serial interface.

The MPQ7223-AEC1 is available in a QFN-68 (8mmx8mm) package, and it is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
