Description

The MPQ7934-AEC1 is a power management IC (PMIC) solution that integrates three high-efficiency step-down DC/DC converters and a low-noise low-dropout (LDO) regulator. Unique dual-stage, 36V buck architecture maximizes efficiency for the 1.8V image sensor input/output (I/O) rail in the CMOS sensor for high resolution camera modules.

Constant-on-time (COT) control with phase-locked loop (PLL) provides fast transient response. During forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM), the fixed 2.2MHz switching frequency (f_SW) greatly reduces external inductor and capacitor requirements.

The PMBus interface allows for application flexibility. The output voltage (V_OUT), power sequence, and protection thresholds can all be adjusted via the interface. Fault statuses can also be monitored. Robust fault protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). The one-time programmable (OTP) memory can be used to configure these functions from the factory.

The MPQ7934-AEC1 minimizes external component count, and is available in a space-saving QFN15 (2.5mmx3.5mm) package with wettable flanks. It is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
