Description

The MPQ4390-AEC1 is a high current output, synchronous, dual buck converter that is designed for automotive applications. The device provides a wide input voltage (V_IN) range, fast transient response, high efficiency, rich monitoring and protection features, and good EMI performance.

The MPQ4390-AEC1 can be selected to operate in either 2-channel mode or single-output multi-phase mode. For 2-channel mode, the output current (I_OUT) for each buck reaches up to 7A, and has a 12A capability with a heat sink. Multiple MPQ4390 chips connected in parallel can also support 4-phase or 8-phase modes.

The switching frequency (f_SW) is configurable between 200kHz and 2.2MHz, or it can be synchronized to an external clock signal. The MPQ4390-AEC1 also provides the frequency spread-spectrum (FSS) function to improve EMI performance.

Different configurations can easily be configured via three selectable interfaces, including a serial peripheral interface (SPI) and an I²C. The one-time programmable (OTP) memory allows for vast flexibility via configurability.

The MPQ4390-AEC1 is available in a TQFN-28 (5mmx6mm) package, and is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
