Description
The MPQ74201FS-AEC1 is a complete power management IC (PMIC) solution that integrates high-efficiency, high-frequency, quad-output, synchronous buck converters and two low-dropout (LDO) regulators with a flexible logic interface.
The device offers a highly integrated solution that delivers up to 6A of continuous output current (IOUT) per channel, with excellent load and line regulation across a wide input voltage (VIN) supply range. The four integrated bucks can be run in parallel to provide 12A or 24A of IOUT. In addition, buck 1 supports external DrMOS operation to supply up to 50A of IOUT.
The MPQ74201FS-AEC1 uses fixed-frequency, constant-on-time (COT) control to provide ultra-fast load transient response. Full protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP), over-current protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown.
It also integrates a multi-page one-time programmable (MOTP) memory, which supports up to four user-configurable pages. The output voltage (VOUT), switching frequency (fSW), current limit (ILIM), and power sequence — as well as many other parameters — are selectable via the MOTP or I2C, providing great system flexibility.
By integrating functional safety features such as logic built-in self-testing (LBIST) and analog built-in self-testing (ABIST), this ASIL-certified device supports applications up to automotive safety integrity level ASIL-D. It has been developed under MPS's advanced MPSafeTM Functional Safety Product Development process, which has been independently certified to meet ISO 26262 guidelines.
The MPQ74201FS-AEC1 requires a minimal number of readily available standard external components, and is available in a TQFN-29 (5mmx5mm) package. It is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
