16V, 8A, 800kHz, Step-Down Converter with PG and Mode in QFN-10 (2mmx3mm) Package

Description

The MP1678 is a synchronous, rectified, step-down switch-mode converter with built-in internal power MOSFETs. It offers a very compact solution to achieve 8A of continuous output current (I_OUT) across a wide input supply range.

The M1678 operates at high efficiency over a wide I_OUT load range based on MPS's proprietary switching loss reduction tech and internal, low on resistance (R_DS(ON)) power MOSFETs.

Adaptive constant-on-time (COT) control mode provides fast transient response, eases loop stabilization, and provides very tight output regulation.

Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), short-circuit protection (SCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown.

The MP1678 requires a minimum number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in a space-saving QFN-10 (2mmx3mm) package.
