Description
The MPQ82D00 is a fully integrated, high-frequency, synchronous, step-down switch-mode converter with a PMBus interface. It offers a very compact solution to achieve up to 20A of output current (IOUT) across a wide input supply range, with excellent load and line regulation. The MPQ82D00 operates at high efficiency across a wide IOUT load range.
The MPQ82D00 adopts constant-on-time (COT) control to provide fast transient response and ease loop stabilization. The operating frequency can easily be set to 600kHz, 800kHz, 1000kHz, or 1200kHz via the MODE1 configuration. The frequency can also be set via the PMBus interface.
The MPQ82D00's output voltage (VOUT) can be configured via the resistance at the MODE2 pin. With output direct sense, VOUT can be monitored via the PMBus. The VOUT level can also be controlled on the fly via a PMBus serial interface. The voltage transition slew rate and hiccup/latch-off protection are also selectable via the PMBus interface. An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is within its nominal voltage range.
Fully integrated protections include over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and over-temperature protection (OTP).
The MPQ82D00 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in TQFN-19 (3mmx3mm) and TQFN-19 (3mmx3.5mm) packages.
