The MP8500A is a dual-channel, high-current, intelligent synchronous rectifier (SR) with an integrated low on resistance (RDS(ON)) MOSFET that is optimized for LLC and full-bridge converters. With its built-in, low-RDS(ON) MOSFET, the device can deliver up to 40A of continuous output current (IOUT) per IC at room temperature. With airflow, the continuous IOUT can reach 50A.
The MP8500A offers many features to simplify system design. It works with MPS's LLC controllers, and comes with Accu-SenseTM current sense to monitor the current going through the SR. It also offers temperature sense to report the junction temperature (TJ).
The device supports working in MOSFET-only mode or SR mode. It also supports partial operation skipping if multiple MP8500As are in a parallel circuit, which makes the application more flexible. The highly integrated MOSFET and gate driver offer fast turn-on and turn-off times to enable high power density and high efficiency.
The MP8500A requires a minimal number of external components, and is available in an LGA-39L (5mmx5mm) package.
