The MPF42797 is a drop in solution to provide accurate and robust State of Charge estimate for application from 2 and up to 10 stacked lithium batteries and so nominal battery pack voltages ranging from 7.4V to 37V.
The MPF42797 can work with different lithium cell leveraging different chemistries and different float voltage.
A wide variety of applications can be supported by the MPF42797 given the extensive set of configurable settings to adjust the estimate based on the specific operating voltage of the application.
The MPF42797 is very flexible since it can be paired with any type of Analog Front End (AFE), leveraging the System’s MCU to provide the battery pack readings.
The MPF42797 provides I2C interface with support for CRC to ensure integrity of the exchanged data.
Requires battery pack ADC readings for each group of stack cells from the Analog Front End (AFE), provided through the Host MCU.
