Description

The MPQ3322-AEC1 is a 24-channel LED driver with a 24V voltage rating and maximum 100mA current sources. It is designed to drive LED arrays for backlighting, RGB lighting, and interior ambient lighting in automotive LCD panels and lamps.

The MPQ3322-AEC1 employs low headroom to regulate the LED current (I_LEDx, where x = 1 to 24). The adaptive voltage feedback (AVF) for the previous power stage optimizes the output voltage (V_OUT) for LED strings, which achieves higher system efficiency.

The device supports independent 12-bit pulse-width modulation (PWM) and 6-bit analog dimming for each channel via the based-controller area network (CAN) differential interface. The resistor on the ISET pin (R_ISET) configures the maximum I_LEDx amplitude.

Robust protections are included to guarantee safe device operation. Protection modes include LED open protection, LED short protection (with a configurable threshold via the STH bits (04h, bits[1:0]), and over-temperature protection (OTP). All fault statuses can be read through the CAN interface. In addition, the failsafe function ensures that the MPQ3322-AEC1 remains operating in a preset state if communication information is lost.

The FF pin and single lamp mode (SLM) support single-IC and multi-IC applications for two fault statuses. If one channel fails, then the IC either only turns off the failed LED string or shuts down all channels.

The MPQ3322-AEC1 is available in a QFN-40 (6mmx6mm) package with wettable flanks, and is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 0.
