Description
The MP86972 is a monolithic half-bridge driver with built-in internal power MOSFETs and gate drivers. It can achieve up to 60A of continuous output current (IOUT) across a wide 3V to 12V input voltage (VIN) range.
The device can drive up to 60A per phase. The integrated MOSFETs and drivers provide high efficiency by optimizing the optimized dead time (DT) and reducing parasitic inductance. The device operates from 100kHz to 3MHz.
The MP86972 offers many features to simplify system design, and is compatible with tri-state pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal controllers. It also comes with accurate current-sensing (Accu-SenseTM) to monitor the inductor current, and temperature-sensing to report the junction temperature.
The device is ideal for server applications where efficiency and small size are a premium.
The MP86972 is available in a TLGA-35 (3mmx6mm) package.
