Description

The MP87220 is a monolithic half-bridge with built-in internal power MOSFETs and gate drivers. It achieves up to 20A of continuous output current (I_OUT) across a wide input supply range, and it can operate from 100kHz to 1.5MHz.

Quiet Switcher^TM technology (QST^TM) utilizes a proprietary circuit design, achievable only in a monolithic architecture, to suppress voltage ringing. This technology limits peak switching voltages, improves device reliability, lowers EMI, and reduces sensitivity to the PCB layout.

The MP87220 offers many features to simplify system design. This device works with controllers with tri-state pulse-width modulation (PWM) signals. It also integrates an accurate current sense to monitor the inductor current (I_L) and a temperature sense to report the junction temperature (T_J).

The MP87220 is ideal for server applications where efficiency and small size are at a premium. It is available in a TLGA-30 (4mmx5mm) package.
