The MPQ8897 is a complete power management IC (PMIC) that integrates six high-efficiency, step-down DC/DC converters and a flexible logic interface for DDR5.

The MPQ8897 provides buck outputs for six channels. Buck A, buck B, and buck E are configured to a three-phase, interleaving buck converter with current-sharing performance. Buck C and buck F are configured to a dual-phase, interleaved buck converter. Buck F serves as a single-phase buck converter that is designed to support the specific power requirement of DDR5 with a high-capacity, second generation, multiplexed rank dual in-line memory module (MRDIMM).

The DC/DC converter provides constant-on-time (COT) control for fast transient response. A 500kHz to 1250kHz configurable switching frequency (f_SW) significantly reduces external inductor and capacitor size. Full protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and thermal shutdown.

The MPQ8897 requires a minimal number of external components, and is available in a BGA-113L (5.55mmx9mm) package.
