Description
The MP29816-C is a highly integrated, digital multi-phase controller that comprises an advanced power solution for CPUs, GPUs, and systems-on-chip (SoCs) in a wide range of applications, including servers, datacenters, and consumer applications. This controller is dedicated to AVSBus protocols. The MP29816-C supports up to 16 phases in one rail or support 8+8 (maximum) phases in two-rail applications. Together with MPS’s Intelli-PhaseTM products, the MP29816-C provides a high-density, energy-efficient core power solution.
The device provides an on-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) to store and restore device configurations. Device configurations and fault parameters can be easily configured and monitored via the PMBus/I2C interface. The wide range of configurable parameters and multiple protection features enable the MP29816-C to support easily building an intelligent, robust system.
The MP29816-C adopts a unique, digital, multi-phase, nonlinear control method to provide excellent transient performance with minimal output capacitors. The unique simple compensation loop makes it easy to debug.
It is available in a TQFN-56 (7mmx7mm) package.
