Description
The MPQ4229-C-AEC1 integrates a monolithic, step-down switch-mode converter with a single USB current-limit switch, as well as a USB Type-C 5V at 3A mode configuration channel for USB ports. It achieves 3A of output current (IOUT) across a wide input supply range, with excellent load and line regulation.
The USB switch's output is current-limited. The USB port supports charging downstream port (CDP) schemes. The USB port also supports USB Type-C 5V at 3A downstream facing port (DFP) mode.
Fault condition protections include hiccup current limiting, USB input over-voltage protection (OVP), DP/DM/CC1/CC2 short-to-battery protection, and thermal shutdown (TSD).
The MPQ4229-C-AEC1 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and it is available in a QFN-22 (4mmx4mm) package. It is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
