The MPF52012 is a highly integrated USB Power Delivery (PD) controller for dual-role port (DRP) or sink port applications. It integrates a 32-bit, RISC-V core microcontroller (MCU), up to 48MHz operation frequency, a USB Type-C port controller, and legacy charging protocol management. Firmware update functionality is supported via the CC lines.

The MPF52012 supports automatic DRP toggling for DRP applications. The CCx pin supports Rd functionality for dead battery and sink-only applications.

The USB Type-C port supports USB PD Revision 3.2 with an adjustable voltage supply (AVS) and programmable power supply (PPS). In source mode, it supports DCP schemes for Battery Charging Specification (BC1.2), 3A Divider Mode, and 1.2V/1.2V Mode. It also supports QC2.0/3.0/4.0/4.0+, Huawei FCP mode, and Fusion Fast Charging Protocol (UFCS). The MPF52012 provides configurable USB PD management when the battery voltage is low or an over-temperature condition occurs.

Fault protections include I/O pin short to V_BUS/V_BATT protection, output over-current protection (OCP), output over-voltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown. The USB Type-C connector I/O pins (OUT, DP, DM, and CCx) support short to battery/V_BUS protection.

The MPF52012 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in QFN-22 (3mmx5mm) package.
