Description
The MPQ71000FS-AEC1 is a dual-channel, low-dropout (LDO) regulator with an I2C interface and one-time programmable (OTP) memory. The device provides power for automotive advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) module and active antennas in automotive systems. The wide input voltage (VIN) range makes the MPQ71000FS-AEC1 suitable for battery cold-crank (3V) conditions, up to load dump (42V) conditions.
The MPQ71000FS-AEC1 delivers up to 300mA of current per channel with excellent load and line regulation. The dual LDO output voltages (VOUT1 and VOUT2) are both configurable via the I2C interface with a range between 1V and 18V. The standard I2C interface provides flexibility in applications. Various parameters can be adjusted by writing the settings in the device without any hardware changes required.
The MPQ71000FS-AEC1 has an internal successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to monitor output voltage and current, as well as the temperature. The device is provides full diagnostics of over-current (OC), short-circuit (SC), output over-voltage (OV), under-voltage (UV), short-to-battery (STB), and open-load conditions. It also features thermal shutdown.
Safety mechanisms such as built-in self-testing (BIST) provide high diagnostic coverage, which provides the desired safety coverage for ASIL-D requirements.
The MPQ71000FS-AEC1 is available in flip-chip QFN-14 (3mmx3mm) and wire-bonded QFN-16 (4mmx4mm) packages with wettable flanks. It is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
