Description
The MP2422B is a fully integrated, high-frequency, synchronous buck converter with an I2C/PMBus control interface. It offers a very compact solution that achieves up to 25A of output current (IOUT), with excellent load and line regulation across a wide input supply voltage (VIN) range. The MP2422B operates at high efficiency over a wide IOUT load range.
The MP2422B adopts an internally compensated constant-on-time (COT) control mode that provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. Its operation frequency can be configured from 300kHz to 1MHz, pulse-width modulation (PWM) frequency (fPWM), or pulse-frequency modulation (PFM) via the I2C.
An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output voltage (VOUT) is within its nominal range. PG is clamped at about 0.7V with an external pull-up voltage if the input supply fails to power the MP2422B.
Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and over-temperature protection (OTP).
The MP2422B requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in a TLGA-36 (5mmx5mm) package.

ANALOG SIGNAL VS. DIGITAL SIGNALSARTICLEA signal is an electromagnetic or electrical current that carries data from one system or network to another. In electronics, a signal is often a time-varying voltage that is also an electromagnetic wave carrying information, though it can take on other forms, such as current. There are two main types of signals used in electronics: analog and digital signals. This article discusses the correspond...
