The EV6642-LE-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MP6642, a three-phase, sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver with integrated power MOSFETs and up to 5A of phase peak current. It features sensorless field-oriented control (FOC) for better efficiency and low vibration. The input voltage (VIN) ranges from 5V to 35V.
The MP6642 controls the motor speed through the pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal and a 50kHz to 100kHz PWM input frequency. It also supports DC input speed control.
The MP6642 includes rotational speed detection. The rotational speed detector (FG/RD pin) is an open-drain output. The direction control is controlled via the DIR pin’s input. The I2C interface can be used to access the internal register configuration for optimized operation.
Rich protection features include under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP), locked-rotor protection, phase-loss protection, over-current protection (OCP), under-current protection (UCP), and thermal shutdown protection.
The MP6642 is available in a TQFN-17 (4mmx4mm) package with wettable flanks.
