The EV8021-UT-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MP8021, an IEEE 802.3af/at/bt compliant power over Ethernet (PoE) powered device (PD).
The MP8021 supports all the functions of IEEE 802.3af/at/bt, including detection, 5-event classification, inrush current (IINRUSH) control, and an external hot-swap MOSFET driver.
During the start-up period, the MP8021 limits the hot-swap current under the IINRUSH limit and fully turns the hot-swap MOSFET on after the inrush period has elapsed. It also features an intelligent maintain power signature (MPS) function and input under-voltage lockout (UVLO) with wide hysteresis.
The integrated I2C interface can read back the mark event number and monitor the real-time power.
The MP8021 is available in a TQFN-20 (5mmx5mm) package.
It is recommended to read the MP8021 datasheet prior to making any changes to the EV8021-UT-00A.
