Description
The MPX2100 is an all-in-one flyback controller with an integrated primary driving circuit, secondary controller, synchronous rectification driver, and safety-compliant feedback. It offers the benefits of both primary-side regulation (PSR) and secondary-side regulation (SSR).
By adopting capacitive insulation technology, the optocoupler that is used to communicate between primary side and secondary side can be saved. Meanwhile, the MPX2100 can cooperate with the power factor correction (PFC) controller without an optocoupler.
The MPX2100 uses patented SRZVS control to achieve adaptive zero-voltage-switching (ZVS), which minimizes switching loss and saves the dedicated ZVS circuit. This allows high-frequency designs within the universal input range.
The synchronous rectifier (SR) can match the driving signal of the primary-side MOSFET, meaning the SR can operate safely in continuous conduction mode (CCM) with a low-line AC input. This can reduce the input bulk capacitor to further increase power density.
The MPX2100 is designed to work with PFC controllers, and its peak power function allows a smaller transformer/input bulk capacitor to be used compared to conventional QR and ZVS control.
The MPX2100 features advanced protections, including short-circuit protection (SCP), VCC over-voltage protection (OVP), internal brown-in/brownout (BI/BO), CS open/short-circuit protection (SOP/SSP), zero-current detection (ZCD) OVP and under-voltage protection (UVP), HV OVP, primary independent run timeout protection (PRTP), secondary run timeout protection (SRTP), secondary overload protection (SOLP), FB OVP and open-loop protection, VDD OVP, under-voltage lockout (VCC UVLO, VDD UVLO, and VSR UVLO), internal thermal shutdown (POTP and SOTP), and external over-temperature protection (EOTP).
The MPX2100 is available in a TSOICW16-15 package.
