Description

The MAQ430 detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetized cylinder on a rotating shaft. Fast data acquisition and processing provide accurate angle measurement at speeds from 0rpm to 60,000rpm.

The MAQ430 supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. Both end-of-shaft and off-axis (side-shaft mounting) configurations are supported.

The MAQ430 features magnetic field strength detection with programmable thresholds to allow sensing of the magnet position relative to the sensor for creation of functions, such as sensing of axial movements or for diagnostics.

On-chipm non-volatile memory provides storage for configuration parameters, including the reference zero angle position, ABZ encoder settings, UVW pole pair emulation settings, and magnetic field detection thresholds.

MagAlpha Evaluation App Graphical User Interface for All Magnetic Angle Sensors

The MagAlpha Evaluation App software is a Windows desktop application that works alongside the EVKT-MagAlpha-MagDiff communication kit.

The MagAlpha Evaluation App software is compatible with the MagAlpha and MagDiff magnetic position sensor family. This application offers seamless connection and operation with all MagAlpha and MagDiff test boards (TBMA). It provides an easy and convenient way to read the sensor’s angle and read/write (R/W) to all configuration registers. It is also possible to generate a correction table to further increase the sensor accuracy by connecting an optical encoder to the EVKT. The software can then measure the error and compute the optimal correction table. With the MA600, it is possible to write to this table using the sensor's non-volatile memory (NVM).

The MagAlpha Evaluation App software requires the EVKT-MagAlpha-MagDiff communication kit and a sensor front-end board (TBMA).
