Description
The MP9989A is a fast turn-off, intelligent rectifier for flyback converters, and integrates a 100V MOSFET. It can replace a diode rectifier for higher efficiency and power density. The chip regulates the internal power MOSFET’s forward voltage drop to 40mV and turns off before the drain-source voltage (VDS) reverses.
The MP9989A can generate its own supply voltage without the need for auxiliary winding, which makes it well-suited for charger applications with a low output voltage (VOUT) requirement or any other adapter application with a high-side (HS) set-up. Internal ringing detection circuitry prevents the MP9989A from falsely turning on during discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) or quasi-resonant operation.
The MP9989A is available in a QFN-8 (4mmx5mm) package.
