Description
The MP9985 is a fast turn-off, intelligent rectifier for flyback converters that integrates a 100V MOSFET. The device can replace a diode rectifier for higher efficiency and power density. The chip regulates the internal power MOSFET’s forward voltage (VIN) drop to 40mV and turns off before the drain-source voltage (VDS) reverses.
The MP9985 can generate its own supply voltage (VIN) without auxiliary winding, making it well-suited for charger applications with a low output voltage (VOUT) requirement or any other adapter application with a high-side (HS) set-up. The internal ringing detection circuitry prevents the MP9985 from falsely turning on during discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) or quasi-resonant (QR) operation.
The MP9985 is available in an SOIC-8 package.
