Compact and Robust 24V AC Switch with I²C/EN Interface

Description

The MP9566 is a fully integrated AC switch with back-to-back MOSFETs that supports up to a 55V voltage rating and 3A_RMS of continuous AC current. It offers a very compact solution to replace mechanical relay in 24V_AC applications.

To achieve efficient power management, the control input side and AC driver side both consume ultra-low current from the power supply. The AC driver side's VCC power does not require an external bias and can be generated from the AC line when the AC switch is turned off.

The I²C interface simplifies system control using several AC switches, and features a load wire detection function. The built-in high-frequency (HF) communication mechanism also provides 1kV of full isolation from the AC driver side to control the input side.

The MP9566 features zero-current turn-off/zero-voltage turn-on control to minimize the voltage/current spike during switching.

Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), short-circuit protection (SCP), under-voltage protection (UVP), and over-temperature protection (OTP).

The MP9566 is available in a space-saving QFN-20 (3mmx5mm) package.
