The MP3414E is a high-efficiency, synchronous, current-mode step-up converter with output disconnection. The MP3414E can start up from an input voltage (VIN) as low as 0.8V to provide inrush current limiting and output short-circuit protection (SCP).
The integrated P-channel synchronous rectifier (SR) improves efficiency and eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. The P-channel MOSFET disconnects the output from the input when the part shuts down. This feature allows the output to be completely discharged so that the MP3414E only draws a 1μA supply current in shutdown mode. The 1MHz switching frequency (fSW) allows for the use of smaller external components. Meanwhile, internal compensation and soft start (SS) minimize the external component count to produce a compact solution for a wide current load range.
The MP3414E features an integrated power MOSFET that supports up to a 4V output voltage (VOUT) and a typical 1.8A peak switching current (ISW). The MP3414E is available in a small TSOT23-8 package.
