Ultra-Compact AEC-Q100 Qualified Reference Design Saves Space without Compromising Efficiency

Wireless power for automotive applications provides a comfortable, simple way of charging our devices. MPS has developed a wireless charging reference design based on standards from the Wireless Power Consortium. This reference design has a wide input voltage (V_IN) range, and can deliver up to 15W of power while saving board space by integrating all of the required power converters into two ICs, both of which are available in automotive-grade packages. The integrated power tree includes:

• Transmitter full bridge
• Auxiliary power buck converter
• Operational amplifier used for current-sensing
• LDO to power integrated gate drivers and external elements
• Buck-boost converter
