The MP7200 is a high-frequency, constant-current, synchronous buck-boost LED driver with integrated power MOSFETs. It offers a compact solution that can achieve up to 1.2A of continuous output current (IOUT) across a wide input voltage (VIN) range, with excellent load and line regulation. Buck mode can also provide up to 3A of constant load current.
Constant-frequency hysteretic control provides fast transient response without loop compensation. In buck mode, the IC has a fixed switching frequency (fSW) of up to 2.3MHz to reduce the current ripple and electromagnetic interference (EMI). In buck-boost mode, fSW can be as low as 1.15MHz to optimize efficiency and thermal performance.
Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), output over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage protection (UVP), thermal derating, and thermal shutdown. The fault indicator outputs an active logic low signal that indicates whether a fault has occurred.
The MP7200 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in a space-saving QFN-19 (3mmx4mm) package.
