The EVQ4372-V-1001-00A evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MPQ4372GVE-1001-AEC1, a dual-phase application, synchronous, step-down switching regulator with integrated, low on resistance (RDS(ON)) high-side and low-side power MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET, respectively). Part of a highly scalable family of parts, the MPQ4372-1001-AEC1 provides up to 11A of output current (IOUT) and employs Zero-Delay PWM (ZDPTM) control, an MPS-exclusive technology that delivers extremely fast transient response and reduces the need for costly external capacitors. The evaluation board can provide up to 22A of IOUT.
The wide 3.3V to 36V input voltage (VIN) range accommodates a variety of step-down applications in automotive input environments. A 1.8μA shutdown-mode quiescent current (IQ) allows the device to be used in battery-powered applications.
High power conversion efficiency across a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency (fSW) under light-load conditions to reduce switching and gate driver losses.
An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is within 94% to 106% of its nominal voltage. Frequency foldback helps prevent inductor current (IL) runaway during start-up. Thermal shutdown provides reliable, fault-tolerant operation.
A high duty cycle and low-dropout (LDO) mode provide support for automotive cold-crank conditions.
The EVQ4372-V-1001-00A is a fully assembled and tested evaluation board. The MPQ4372GVE-1001-AEC1 is available in a QFN-23 (4mmx5mm) package with wettable flanks, and is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
