The EVL87290-2PHASE-00A is an evaluation board designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MP87290, a monolithic half-bridge with built-in, internal power MOSFETs and gate drivers. The evaluation board can deliver up to 180A of continuous load current across a wide input supply voltage (VIN) range.
Quiet SwitcherTM Technology (QSTTM) utilizes a proprietary circuit design, achievable only in monolithic architecture, to suppress voltage ringing. This technology limits peak switching voltages, improves device reliability, lowers EMI emissions, and reduces sensitivity to the PCB layout.
The MP87290 offers many features to simplify system design. The MP87290 works with controllers (e.g. the MP2985B) with a tri-state pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal. It comes with an accurate current sense to monitor the inductor current (IL) and temperature sense to report the junction temperature (TJ).
The device is ideal for server applications where efficiency and small size are at a premium. The MP87290 is available in a TLGA34 (4mmx6mm) package.
