Server DDR5
Server DDR5 Content
Description
DDR5 SDRAM (synchronous dynamic random-access memory) is the latest generation of DDR memory.
It is the successor to DDR4 and offers significant improvements in speed, capacity, and power efficiency. DDR5 memory modules are designed for use in personal computers, workstations, and servers
There are three types of DDR5 server memory modules: RDIMM, LRDIMM, and MRDIMM. They can be used in networking, blade, and server applications. MPS provides complete solutions for server DDR5 DIMMs, including power management ICs (PMICs), SPD hubs, temperature sensors, and registered clock drivers (RCDs). PMICs provide a voltage supply for all of the components on the DIMM. The SPD hub is a DDR5 serial presence detection EPPROM with hub function (SPD5 hub) and integrated temperature sensor. The temperature sensor is a small device embedded within a DDR5 memory module that monitors the temperature of the DRAM chips. The RCD is an essential component for enabling high-performance, reliable data transfer in server DIMMs.
Differentiated performance is what matters in demanding server applications. MPS is an established power vendor (vCore, DrMOS, POLs) for all major OEMs. MPS has deep knowledge, experience, and expertise with PMIC and DIMM systems through close collaborations with DIMM and OEM partners.
