MPS’s family of small, isolated power modules is perfect for biasing the digital isolators in RS485, RS232, and CAN communication, as well as other industrial and network applications. Higher channel density in PLC systems means less space per channel, making it critical for solutions to minimize board space. The MID power module family provides a tiny solution that integrates a transformer and a 5V isolated supply to power the digital isolator. Smaller than traditional SIP modules, these isolated power modules come in a mono-chip package, greatly improving robustness and reliability in harsh industrial environments. Excellent magnetic field immunity, higher production yield with automatic SMT machines, and easy solder inspection make this series perfect for isolated applications.

Features:

• Up to 1W of power, and 3.3V or 5V input capability
• Regulated 3.3V or 5V output with excellent load transient response
• 0.4% load regulation and 1.5% line regulation
• Strong magnetic field immunity, supporting up to 3kVDC isolation
• Transformer is integrated into a small SOIC-16 wide-body package with a very low-profile 2.5mm height
• Takes up 50% less board space compared to an SIP package module
