The EVQ72957FS-86960A-02A evaluation board is a 4-rail, multi-phase voltage regulator (VR) solution. It supports the MPQ72957FS-AEC1 and MPQ86960A. This combined solution acts as a multi-phase, synchronous buck converter with minimal external components.
The EVQ72957FS-86960A-02A aims to supply power for four rails. The phase number of the four rails can be configured flexibly, with a maximum phase number of 8, 4, 2, and 2 for rail A, rail B, rail C, and rail D, respectively.
As the core controller for the EVQ72957FS-86960A-02A, the MPQ72957FS-AEC1 provides an on-chip non-volatile memory (NVM) to store and restore device configurations. Device configurations and fault parameters can be easily configured or monitored via the I2C interface.
The MPQ72957FS-AEC1 is based on unique, digital, multi-phase nonlinear control to provide fast transient response to the load transient with minimal output capacitance (COUT). With only one power loop control method for both the steady state and load transient, power loop compensation is simple to configure.
