Product Description

The EV2562DS-00A is an evaluation board for the MP2562, a high frequency step-down regulator with an integrated power MOSFET.

The MP2562 integrates a 460m? MOSFET that provides 1A load current over a wide operating input voltage of 4.5V to 50V.

Current mode control provides fast transient response and reliable over current protection. An internal soft-start prevents inrush current at turn-on.

The EV2562DS-00A is a fully assembled and tested PCB. It generates a +3.3V output voltage at load current up to 1A from an 8V to 50V input range. Switching frequency is set at 500KHz.

IC Details

The MP2562 is a high frequency step-down switching regulator with an integrated internal high-side high voltage power MOSFET. It provides 1A output with current mode control for fast loop response and easy compensation. The wide 4.5V to 50V input range accommodates a variety of step-down applications, including those in an automotive input environment. A 12? shutdown mode quiescent current allows use in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency over a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency at light load condition to reduce the switching and gate driving losses. The frequency fold back helps prevent inductor current runaway during startup and thermal shutdown provides reliable, fault tolerant operation. By switching at 4MHz, the MP2562 is able to prevent EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) noise problems, such as those found in AM radio and ADSL applications. The MP2562 is available in small 3mm x 3mm QFN10 and SOIC8 packages.
