Digital LLC Controller with PMBus/I²C Interface

Description

The MP2981 is a digital LLC controller for full bridges with synchronous rectification control. It provides two PWM channels for primary-side control, and two PWM channels for secondary-side control. The MP2981 integrates open-loop and closed-loop control for primary-side operation. The adaptive on-time control for secondary-side operation optimizes efficiency.

Built-in multiple-time programmable (MTP) memory provides extensive programming for loop parameters, soft-start timing, switching frequency, and protection parameters. The fault status can be monitored via the PMBus/I²C interface.

Working with MPS’s smart synchronous rectifier (SR) can optimize the solution. The MP2981 can monitor and report the output current through the CS output from MPS’s smart synchronous rectifier products.

The MP2981 is available in a QFN-24 (4mmx4mm) package.
