The MP6612 is an H-bridge motor driver that drives reversible motors. It can drive one DC motor, one stepper motor winding, and other loads. The H-bridge consists of four N-channel power MOSFETs and an internal charge pump that generates the gate driver voltages. The outputs are controlled via the IN1 and IN2 pins.
The device operates from a 4V to 45V motor power supply voltage, which can supply up to 5A of output current (IOUT) according to the logic control. A low standby circuit current can be achieved while the device is disabled. An internal current-sense circuit provides an output voltage (VOUT) that is proportional to the load current. Cycle-by-cycle current regulation/limiting is also provided. These features do not require the use of a low-ohmic shunt resistor.
Internal shutdown functions include over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, and over-temperature protection (OTP). The MP6612 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components, and is available in a TSSOP-20 package with an exposed thermal pad.
