Smart Motor Module Evaluation Kits provide an easy method to evaluate MPS Motor Driver Modules by providing the module with an integrated brushless DC motor that incorporates position sensing, driver power stage, and control into an easy-to-use solution. The solution contains integrated field oriented control algorithms in hardware, providing the ability to control torque, speed, or position without having to develop complex motor control firmware. The motors can be simply controlled to an input torque, velocity, or position. Motor position feedback is integrated directly into the motor control loop using MPS’s patented MagAlpha magnetic angular position sensor technology. Motor control and parameterization is facilitated through an RS485 interface using a provided software GUI.
