Product Description

The MagAlpha MA102 magnetic sensor is an all-in-one solution designed to replace Hall switches for commutation in brushless DC motors and to provide absolute angle position. Absolute position is provided in the form of an 8-bit direct digital angle on the SPI interface. 12-bit resolution UVW commutation signals are provided with emulation for 1 to 8 pole pair rotors.

The MA102 detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetized cylinder on a rotating shaft. Fast data acquisition and processing provide accurate angle measurement at speeds from 0 to 60,000 rpm.

The MA102 supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations. Both end-of-shaft and off-axis (side-shaft mounting) configurations are supported.

Long Eval Board for MA102

The TBMA102-Q-LT-01A is the long test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor MA102. The sensor is mounted on the edge of the board and can therefore be used in both side-shaft and end-of-shaft configurations.

It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.

In addition to this long test board, there is a round format version (RD) where the sensor is mounted in the center of the board for end-of-shaft configurations

Round Eval Board for MA102

The TBMA102-Q-RD-01A is the round test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor MA102. This configuration is used for end shaft sensing.

It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.

In addition to this round test board there is a long format version (LT) where the sensor is mounted on the edge of the board and can therefore be used in both side-shaft and end-of-shaft configurations.

The EVKT-MACOM is a communication kit for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor family test boards (TBMA) and Rotary Knob kit (EVKT-KNOB). The kit contains a microcontroller motherboard, a collection of daughter boards adapted to different sensor boards, and the related cables.

This communicaiton kit requires Macom App Software and a sensor test board to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.
