The MagAlpha MA700 is a robust contactless angle encoder. The IC detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetized cylinder attached to the rotor. The data acquisition and processing is extremely fast, allowing accurate angle measurement at speeds from 0 to 100’000 RPM.
The MA700 supports a wide range of magnetic field strengths and spatial configurations, which help to relax mechanical tolerances and simplify system design. Both end-of-shaft magnet and off axis magnet positioning (“side-shaft” mounting) topologies are supported.

TBMA700-Q-LT-00A Evaluation Kit Long Eval Board for MA700
The TBMA700-Q-LT-00A is the long test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor MA700. The sensor is mounted on the edge of the board and can therefore be used in both side-shaft and end-of-shaft configurations.
It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.
In addition to this long test board, there is a round format version (RD) where the sensor is mounted in the center of the board for end-of-shaft configurations
