Description
The MPQ2923-AEC1 is a highly efficient, current-mode, synchronous buck controller with a wide input voltage (VIN) range. The wide 3.6V to 36V VIN range makes the device well-suited for multi-purpose automotive and industrial applications, and the VBIAS pin allows for operation under cold-crank conditions if a regulated 5V supply is available.
The MPQ2923-AEC1 uses pulse-width modulation (PWM) current control architecture with accurate cycle-by-cycle current limiting and is capable of driving dual N-channel MOSFETs. Advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode enables nonsynchronous operation to optimize light-load efficiency.
The switching frequency (fSW) is resistor-configurable between 200kHz and 2.2MHz. The MPQ2923-AEC1 can also be synchronized to an external clock. Configurable frequency spread spectrum (FSS) improves EMI performance.
An open-drain power good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is within 94% to 106% of its nominal voltage.
Full protection features include precision output over-voltage protection (OVP), input OVP, output over-current protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown.
The MPQ2923-AEC1 is available in a QFN-24 (4mmx4mm) package, and is available in AEC-Q100 Grade 1.
