High-Efficiency, 2A, 60V, Fully Integrated, Synchronous Buck Converter with 40μA I_Q

Description

The MP9572 is a fully integrated, wide input voltage (V_IN) range, synchronous step-down converter. It can achieve up to 2A of continuous output current (I_OUT) with peak current control for excellent transient response.

The device employs advanced asynchronous modulation (AAM) mode, which achieves high efficiency under light loads by scaling down the frequency to reduce switching and gate driver losses.

Full protection features include built-in soft start, enable (EN) control, and power good (PG) indication. In addition, the chip provides over-current protection (OCP) with valley current detection, which helps prevent current runaway. The MP9572 also offers short-circuit protection (SCP) with hiccup mode, input under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, and thermal protection with auto-recovery.

With internal compensation, the MP9572 offers a very compact solution with a minimal number of readily available, standard external components. The MP9572 is available in a QFN-12 (2.5mmx3mm) package.
