Product Description

The MagAlpha MA750 is a robust, contactless, angle encoder suitable for control buttons and knobs. The IC detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetized cylinder attached to the rotor. The output is digital (SPI) or pulse-width modulation (PWM). For usual potentiometer replacement, the PWM signal can be filtered to obtain an analog signal.

Test Board for the MagAlpha

The TBMA is a test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor family. The TBMA allows users to run and test the MagAlpha sensor quickly. TBMA boards exist in two different formats: round (RD) and long (LT). In the RD format, the sensor is mounted in an end-of-shaft configuration. In the LT format, the sensor is mounted on the edge of the board and can therefore be used in both side-shaft and end-of-shaft configurations.

The TBMA is compatible with the Macom kit, offering seamless connection and operation of the MagAlpha and allowing users to evaluate MagAlpha functionalities and performances with their own set-up.

Contrary to the EVMA, the TBMA only includes the assembled board with the sensor and decoupling capacitors. It does not include connectors.

MagAlpha Communication Kit to Connect to Sensor Test Boards (TMBA) and Rotary Knob Kit, Requires Macom App Software

The EVKT-MACOM is a communication kit for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor family test boards (TBMA) and Rotary Knob kit (EVKT-KNOB). The kit contains a mircocontroller, motherboard, a collection of daughter boards adapted to different sensor boards, and the related cables.

It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.
