4A High Efficient Synchronous Step-Down Converter with I2C Interface
The EV8864-Q-00A is used for demonstrating the performance of MPS’s MP8864. MP8864 is a highly integrated and high frequency synchronous step-down switcher with I2C control interface. It is optimized to support up to 4A load current over an input supply range from 4.5V to 21V with excellent load and line regulation.
Current-Mode operation provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. The output voltage level can be controlled, on-the fly through a 3.4Mbps I2C serial interface. Voltage range can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1.87V in 10mV steps. Voltage slew rate, switching frequency and power savings mode are also selectable through the I2C interface. Fully protection features includes over current protection, over voltage protection and over temperature protection.
MP8864 is available in QFN15 (3mmx3mm) package.

4A, 21V High Efficiency Synchronous Step-Down Converter with I2C Interface
The MP8864 is a high-frequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down, switch-mode converter with an I2C control interface. It offers a very compact solution to achieve a 4 A continuous output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input supply range. The MP8864 has synchronous-mode operation for higher efficiency over the output load range. The reference voltage level is controlled, on-the-fly through a 3.4 Mbps I2C serial interface. The voltage range can be adjusted from 0.6 V to 1.87 V in 10 mV steps. Also, the voltage slew rate, switching frequency, enable, and power-saving mode are selectable through the I2C interface. Current-mode operation provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. Full protection features include over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown (TSD). The MP8864 requires a minimal number of readily available, standard external components and is available in a 15-pin QFN15 (3mm x 3mm) package.

This I2C GUI allows you to program the MP88xx . By using this I2C GUI, you can set the output voltage, switching frequency, slew rate, and operation mode. Please reference the parts respective user guides for installation and programing instructions.
