3.5A, 36V, 4MHz Step-Down Converter Evaluation Board
The EV4462DQ-00B is an evaluation board for the MP4462, a high frequency step-down regulator with an integrated power MOSFET.
The MP4462 integrates a 100m? MOSFET that provides 3.5A load current over a wide operating input voltage of 4.5V to 36V. A 5µA shutdown mode quiescent current allows use in battery-powered applications.
Current mode control provides fast transient response and eases loop stabilization. An internal soft-start prevents inrush current at turn-on.
The MP4462 is available in small 3mm x 3mm 10-pin QFN and thermally enhanced SOIC8 packages.

3.5A, 4MHz, 36V Step-Down Converter
The MP4462 is a high frequency step-down switching regulator with an integrated internal high-side high voltage power MOSFET. It provides 3.5A output with current mode control for fast loop response and easy compensation. The wide 4.5V to 36V input range accommodates a variety of step-down applications, including those in an automotive input environment. A 100µA operational quiescent current allows use in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency over a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency at light load condition to reduce the switching and gate driving losses. The frequency foldback helps prevent inductor current runaway during startup and thermal shutdown provides reliable, fault tolerant operation. In some applications, such as AM radio and ADSL applications, in which the device is sensitive to frequency band, the MP4462 can avoid the related EMI problem by setting the frequency at 4MHz. The MP4462 is available in small 3x3mm QFN10 and SOIC8E packages.
