Description

A GPON, or gigabyte passive optical network, is a point-to-multipoint access network that can serve multiple end devices from a single fiber optics line by using splitters to divide the signal. GPONs can support Ethernet, ATM (asynchronous transfer mode), and TDM (time division multiplexing) traffic, and offers greater total bandwidth and bandwidth efficiency than traditional PON or BPON systems. Because of this, they enable high-speed data connections with a longer transmission distance, better signal quality and speed, an improved user experience, and better efficiency with lower cost.

Our cutting-edge, high-efficiency synchronous step-down converters and power modules offer low standby power and advanced capabilities for new GPON designs. These devices are carefully engineered to offer the best power density in the smallest package size, so you can save design time and minimize the cost and BOM.

MPS’s leading power management solutions offer everything you need to power the next generation of fast, capable GPON designs.
