The MagAlpha MA300 magnetic sensor is an all-in-one solution designed to replace Hall switches for 3-phase block commutation in brushless DC motors and provide encoder data. The MA300 detects the absolute angular position of a permanent magnet, typically a diametrically magnetized cylinder attached to the rotor. The data acquisition and processing is extremely fast, allowing for accurate angle measurement at speeds from 0 to 100,000 RPM.

Since the measurement is spatially confined, users have flexibility in terms of magnet shapes and configurations. This helps relax mechanical tolerances and, in case the end-of-shaft position is not available, the MagAlpha MA300 operates away from the axis of rotation (“side-shaft” mounting).

Long Eval Board for MA300

The TBMA300-Q-LT-00A is the long test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor MA300. The sensor is mounted on the edge of the board and can therefore be used in both side-shaft and end-of-shaft configurations.

It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.

In addition to this long test board, there is a round format version (RD) where the sensor is mounted in the center of the board for end-of-shaft configurations.

Round Eval Board for MA300

The TBMA300-Q-RD-00A is the round test board for the MagAlpha magnetic position sensor MA300. This configuration is used for end shaft sensing.

It requires the communications kit (EVKT-MACOM) and the Macom App Software (see below) to evaluate MagAlpha functionality and performance with your set-up, such as noise level, refresh rate, power-up time, and magnetic field dependence.
